About Us
The Verve is the official student-led newspaper and media outlet for The King’s Academy. Run by a dedicated staff of student editors, staff writers and multimedia creators, we serve as a source of news, campus features, sports coverage and commentary for the TKA community.
We believe that a school newspaper should meet students, families and faculty right where they are. That is why we tell our stories across multiple media platforms. Our traditional print issues and online articles focus on everything from local Georgia news and school policy updates to deeper opinion pieces reflecting a Biblical worldview. At the same time, our multimedia team produces video broadcasts to bring the latest campus events, athletic achievements and student spotlights to life.
Beyond our day-to-day news reporting and multimedia broadcasts, our staff has the unique privilege of planning and hosting the annual Black & White dance. Our staff handles the behind-the-scenes logistics, coordinates the event details and creates and plans the theme for the actual dance.
Our publication is guided by our faculty advisors, but the daily operations—from event planning and layout design to digital reporting—are driven by the student body. This hands-on experience allows our staff to learn the ins and outs of media production and event management while working closely together as a team.
