The Foundations for the Future campaign, named after 1 Corinthians 3:10, is a fundraiser that has provided funds for the fields, athletic complex and new playground. This campaign was created in 2024 with the goal of involving families in the advancement of the school.

“It was started by the advancement team,” Foundations for the Future co-founder and Director of Advancement Mrs. Brittany Montague said. “And we brought the idea to the administration, and we set out with a goal of reaching out to all of our families to ask them to give one time a year and to support our school. When you give to the school in this way and we have 100% of families participate, then we’re able to apply for grants.”

The school’s fundraising culture has supported many additions to The King’s Academy and will continue to build a foundation for each later generation. Although the results may not be seen immediately, the future of TKA will be positively impacted by these funds.

“[When Foundations for the Future began] we were seeking to provide a planned path to ensure our school is here for generations to come,” Foundations for the Future co-founder Mrs. Allison Turner said. “Then [we want to] work alongside the administration to provide funds for enhancements to the school.”

This campaign is about families giving to the school, rather than asking others to give, which is the way other fundraisers, such as the Fun Run are set up.. It gives TKA families the opportunity to make a difference in the future of the school.

“[The Fun Run] is an outward facing fundraiser, whereas the Foundations for the Future is an inward facing [fundraiser] where we ask our families, staff and administration to give,” Mrs. Turner said.

TKA’s tuition cost covers things like necessary classroom supplies, staff pay and technology. However, for the optional additions such as the fields or the playground, the money has to be funded elsewhere.

“A lot of the extracurricular things that King’s offers to our students, whether that’s drama, sports or academic competitions, are funded outside the operating budget,” Mrs. Turner said.

This year, the campaign’s goal is $165,000 with 100% staff and family participation, as well as participation from any alumni who wish to give. They’re also excited to announce that they have a match of $50,000 from Place Services, Inc.

“I want people to know that we want 100% participation from all families, and that any gift amount really supports the school and helps us to be able to apply for grants,” Mrs. Montague said. “And that every gift, no matter the size, matters.”
